Many children and youth who experience emotional and adjustment challenges also struggle for success in the classroom. Fox Run Center is committed to providing our youth with high-quality educational experiences throughout their stay through programming at the Fox Run School. Our school is operated by East Central Ohio Educational Service Center in partnership with the St. Clairsville-Richland City Schools, the Ohio School district within which the center is located.
The Fox Run School is in compliance with the Ohio Department of Education Standards, including special education provisions for students qualifying for Individualized Education Programs (IEP). Transferable credits will be submitted to the local school system upon a signed release and are recognized as a fulfillment of graduation requirements.
We include components of the Eden Autism Curriculum as part of our educational programming. Education employees (teachers, administrators, therapists and classroom assistants) are state licensed and have been carefully chosen to work in this supportive, individualized school setting. We offer smaller classroom room sizes (typically 4-5 students) to focus on building relationships. Our school follows the child’s typical schedule and is in session from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our Extended School Year includes summer school classes for 8 weeks.
Our Certified Teachers include:
Special Education Evaluations are completed by a licensed school psychologist. Related services, including speech, occupational and physical therapy are provided as prescribed through the IEP Process. For those with neuropsychological testing, or Individualized Education Plans (IEP), Fox Run Center will implement the IEP as it was written by the education staff in your local school district.
We are proud to be the first residential facility to receive the 21st century grant for best technology supports available. We follow the operating standards for individuals with disabilities, and offer technology upgrades such as:
Our school building has been upgraded with new wireless network, and every teacher and paraprofessional are issued an iPad.
